Summary

The Events & Engagement Coordinator at the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce plays a pivotal role in fostering community engagement and supporting local businesses. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events that promote networking, education, and collaboration among Chamber members and the broader community.

Key Goals

Increase member participation, enhance community outreach, successful event execution, effective marketing and promotion, operational efficiency, member retention and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of Chamber events, including logistics, vendor relations, marketing, and on-site management. Working evenings are required on event days.
  • Develop event concepts and themes that align with the Chamber’s mission and goals.
  • Ensure all events are executed within budget and meet attendance and satisfaction targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from event participants to continuously improve future events.
  • Drive sponsorship acquisition and develop strategies for sponsorship growth and marketing. Assist in event communications across social media, email campaigns, and other channels.

Membership Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase member participation and engagement in Chamber activities and events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Chamber members, understanding their needs and interests.
  • Create and manage programs that provide value to members and encourage active involvement.
  • Communicate regularly with members through newsletters, social media, and other channels to keep them informed and engaged.
  • Monitor membership trends and provide insights to improve member retention and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in budget management and tracking.
  • Familiarity with Canva is considered an asset.
  • Competence in video creation using CapCut or other video editing software.
  • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Position Details

  • This position provides maternity leave coverage and is expected to conclude in May 2026, with the potential for extension into a permanent role.
  • Compensation: 35 hours a week at $23 per hour.
  • Extended medical insurance option, with 50% of the premium covered by the employer.
  • One week off between Christmas and New Year, this is unpaid.
