The City of Maple Ridge Emergency Preparedness

The City of Maple Ridge Emergency Preparedness

The City of Maple Ridge is encouraging residents to sign up for Alert Maple Ridge, a communications service powered by Voyent Alert, that sends emergency alerts to subscribers about events like fires, floods, storms, and other hazards in the community.

The service was initially deployed last year in the Alouette Valley flood zone, but the City has rebranded the service to Alert Maple Ridge (powered by Voyent Alert) and is expanding its use to send out additional notifications. Residents can sign up for alerts through the City's website or download the Voyent Alert app for free.

The service allows subscribers to receive notifications relevant to the locations or topics they have subscribed to. In the coming months, the City will add notifications related to facility and program/service impacts, such as pool closures, road work, and traffic impacts. The City is also encouraging residents to be prepared for emergencies by developing an emergency plan, making an emergency kit, and staying informed through Alert Maple Ridge.

Residents can sign up for alerts directly through the City’s website at mapleridge.ca/alert or download the Voyent Alert app for free through the App Store or Google Play.
