Pitt Meadows Welcomes New Deputy Fire Chief Chris Miley

The Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service proudly announces the appointment of Chris Miley as the new Deputy Fire Chief, Training and Operations.

“The selection of Chris is a testament to our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and service for our residents,” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “Chris’s impressive background and dedication to public service align with our City’s values and priorities. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our community.”

Chris joins the Pitt Meadows Fire Department in mid-December from Langley City Fire Rescue Service, where he served over 20 years in various capacities, including the role of Assistant Fire Chief. In his role as Deputy Fire Chief for Pitt Meadows, Chris will be responsible for overseeing the training of the department’s 17 career firefighters and 30 paid-on-call firefighters.

“The role of Deputy Fire Chief, Training and Operations is vital to the effective functioning of our emergency services,” says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. “Chris’s experience, leadership, and passion for training and professional development make him an excellent fit for the role.”

“I am pleased to welcome Deputy Chief Miley to the Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service team,” says Fire Chief Stephan Drolet. “He brings extensive experience to the department and will play a crucial role in the department’s ongoing transition to a fully staffed 24/7 service delivery model and ensuring that our firefighters are prepared for any scenario they may face.”
