PITT MEADOWS, BC – Nominations are open for this year’s Community Service Awards, which aim to honour the inspiring individuals, organizations and businesses that make a positive impact in our community.

“Pitt Meadows is filled with many outstanding people, organizations and businesses who deserve to be celebrated,” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “I invite residents to nominate our community champions for one of the Community Service Awards as a way to recognize those who make a difference in our City.”

The Community Service Awards program was created by the City in 2019 to recognize and honour outstanding contributions and achievements of groups, organizations and individuals in six categories:
·         Against the Odds Achievement
·         Business of the Year
·         Community Service
·         Community Service Youth (25 and under)
·         Good Neighbour
·         Spirit of Pitt Meadows
"Recognizing positive actions, whether they are small acts of kindness or large-scale community efforts, is so important," says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. "We encourage everyone to nominate those who consistently go the extra mile to make Pitt Meadows a great place to live."
 
Nominations are open until Tuesday, October 1, 2024. More information, including nomination criteria and the online nomination form can be found at pittmeadows.ca/awards.
 
The Community Service Awards Task Force—made up of representatives from the community—will review all nominations and select recipients that best reflect the category in which they have been nominated.
 
Award recipients will be announced and presented with their awards at a private event in the new year.
