Eagle Meadows Business Park

Eagle Meadows Business Park

There is a new development planned on Katzie First Nation land, called the Eagle Meadows Business Park.

The new venture by the First Nations neighbor to both the cities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows will be a 17-acre light industrial complex, located off Bonson Road and Wharf Street, in the northeast corner of the Katzie’s Reserve 1.

It will be comprised of two light industrial buildings, with 400,000 square feet of light industrial space for lease. Chief Grace George's statement highlights the economic opportunities the project presents and the significance of the development for the community's self-determination and economic sustainability.

The project's design includes features that enhance the streetscape and provide amenities for the community and businesses at the site. The cultural nodes that highlight the history, culture, and importance of the nation sound like an excellent addition to the development and could help to educate and raise awareness about the First Nation's culture and heritage.

The City of Pitt Meadows' statement about the project also indicates a willingness to work with the Katzie First Nation to ensure that the development progresses smoothly and benefits the community. The commitment to progress roadway, sanitary, fire services, storm, and water systems agreements is an essential step towards the project's successful completion.

Overall, the Eagle Meadows Business Park development could be a significant economic and cultural boost for the Katzie First Nation community, and it's positive to see that the project is moving forward with a focus on inclusivity, sustainability, and community involvement.
