Mayor's Statement
“This is our time to shine as we host young athletes from around B.C.,” said Maple Ridge Mayor Dan Ruimy. “Our City will deliver a first-rate athletic competition, leaving the competitors and sports officials with memories of our unparalleled natural beauty and the incredible hospitality of our local volunteers.”

- Athlete Arrival: Wednesday, July 17
- Competitions: Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21
- Opening Ceremonies: Thursday evening at the Albion Sport Complex
- Closing Event: Volunteer recognition on Sunday evening

Torch Display and Selfies
The BC Summer Games Torch, lit during a ceremony on April 27 at Memorial Peace Park, will be available for selfies:
- City Hall: June 10 - 21
- Maple Ridge Leisure Centre: June 22 - July 14

“Take a selfie with the Torch and share it with the hashtag #BCSummerGames to help us build excitement and spread the word about the upcoming Games,” added Mayor Ruimy.

Volunteer Opportunities
The event will require over 2500 volunteers in roles like traffic control, dorm management, security, and food services. Volunteers will support the logistics of feeding nearly 40,000 meals and housing athletes and coaches in local school dorms.

“Council will be volunteering their time and I encourage you to sign up as well,” said Mayor Ruimy. “It’s a great way to be part of the excitement and experience the Games from behind the scenes."
