City of Pitt Meadows Launches New Emergency Alert System, Voyent Alert!

PITT MEADOWS, B.C. – The City of Pitt Meadows is enhancing its emergency preparedness with the launch of Voyent Alert!, a new emergency notification system that helps residents and visitors stay informed during critical events such as earthquakes, fires, floods and other urgent situations. The system sends real-time alerts directly to your phone, email or through voice messages, and is free to use.

"The safety and well-being of our residents is a top priority," says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. "The use of this new resource will ensure that people in our community receive important updates quickly and reliably when it matters most."

Voyent Alert! allows residents and visitors to receive notifications tailored to specific locations that matter to them, such as their home, workplace or a family member’s address. Whether it is a road closure, evacuation order or severe weather warning, the system helps ensure that those who have subscribed get the much-needed information as soon as possible. At this time, the City uses Voyent Alert! solely for emergency and critical incident notifications.

"This is a powerful tool that supports our efforts to keep the community connected and informed during emergencies," says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. "Being able to deliver timely, location-specific insight directly to residents strengthens our emergency response and helps people make informed decisions for their safety."

Signing up for Voyent Alert! is simple. Residents—or anyone who visits Pitt Meadows regularly and would like to subscribe—can register online, choose how they want to receive alerts by text, email, app notification or voice call, and start getting important notifications right away.
