City of Pitt Meadows Hires Chief Stephan Drolet
The City of Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service will now be led by Stephan Drolet who brings more than 20 years experience to the role.
“After an extensive search and careful consideration, I am pleased to announce the appointment of our new Fire Chief, Stephan Drolet”, says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. “Stephan has been an integral part of Pitt Meadows Fire for many years, and his promotion from Deputy Fire Chief is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and commitment to our organization.”
“As our new Fire Chief, Stephan will continue to be pivotal in guiding the department through its transition to 24/7 coverage and shaping its future,” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “His passion for the safety and well-being of our community, combined with his proven ability to foster teamwork, will undoubtedly contribute greatly to the continued success of Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service.”
Stephan's professional journey stands out for its outstanding service, commitment, and a profound grasp of the department's core principles and objectives. With an extensive background in protective services, he brings two decades of firefighting expertise, including 18 years as a dedicated paid-on-call volunteer in Pitt Meadows. Additionally, his 29-year tenure in municipal, provincial, and national policing has equipped him with invaluable experience in law enforcement, emergency response, and leadership.
“For the past 82 years, Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service has a proud history of serving and meeting the needs of the community,” says Chief Stephan Drolet. “I am honoured to be the new Fire Chief and to lead the department as we go forward and maintain the tradition of dedicated selfless service for which we are known.”
