City of Maple Ridge Climate Action Plan Update

Re: Climate Action Plan Update – April 2025 Community Engagement
Maple Ridge, BC - April 8, 2025 -The City of Maple Ridge is developing an innovative, action-oriented Climate Action Plan and is connecting with key interest holders to ensure it reflects our community’s unique characteristics and needs. This Email is to inform you that we have begun our third and final phase of community engagement for the public and interest-holders to review and provide feedback on the revised 55 actions that will form the City’s Climate Action Plan.
Learning from diverse perspectives and thoughts help shape the actions of the Climate Action Plan and create a city that is more resilient to the impacts of climate change. As we develop the plan we wish to hear from as many Maple Ridge community members as possible, including all residents, businesses, interest holders, Katzie q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) and qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen) First Nations, and Indigenous peoples.
Phase one of community engagement held in the Summer of 2024 raised awareness and sought to understand local organizations’ experiences with climate change impacts and learn more about community priorities for climate mitigation and adaptation actions. Phase two of community engagement held in the Fall of 2025 focused on gathering feedback on what climate mitigation and adaptation actions the city could take and how the community prioritizes them. Feedback received in both engagement phases help shape the Bold Moves and climate actions identified for the City’s Climate Action Plan. Result of engagement on the Climate Action Plan can be found at Engage.MapleRidge.ca/ClimateAction
We invite you, your networks, and members to share your wisdom, and insights on the 5 Bold Moves and 55 actions by attending one of our community engagement workshops on the following dates and locations:
