Calling All Ridge Meadows Businesses: Support the BC Summer Games!
As the Maple Ridge 2024 BC Summer Games approach, the Ridge Meadows Chamber is reaching out to local businesses for support. This event is a significant opportunity to showcase the community spirit and hospitality of Ridge Meadows, and there are several ways to get involved and make a difference.
Firstly, a request from Heidi Einhorn, who leads the Participant & Volunteer Services team. They are organizing a Volunteer Appreciation Event on Sunday, July 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Albion Fairgrounds. This event aims to thank the many volunteers whose hard work and dedication are vital to the success of the Games. To make this event special, the team is assembling 'door prize' draws to be raffled off to attendees. Businesses are encouraged to donate prizes as a way to show appreciation for these hardworking individuals.
In addition to donations, there are other ways businesses can contribute to the Games:
1. Welcome Messages on Reader Boards: During a recent visit to Quesnel, it was noted that local businesses displayed "Welcome BC Games Athletes" on their reader boards and signs, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Ridge Meadows businesses are encouraged to do the same from July 15 to 21. This simple gesture will help athletes and visitors feel appreciated and excited to be part of the community.
2. Prepare for a Business Boost: During the Quesnel games, local restaurants experienced a significant increase in business. Athletes ordered take-out from their dorms, and families dined out at local establishments. A similar increase in business is expected in Ridge Meadows from July 17 to 21. Restaurants, especially those offering take-out, are encouraged to prepare for this surge and ensure that visitors have an outstanding culinary experience.
The support of the local business community is essential to the success of the Games. Donations for the Volunteer Appreciation Event, as well as efforts to create a welcoming atmosphere and prepare for increased business, will all contribute to making the Maple Ridge 2024 BC Summer Games an unforgettable event.
