Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce promotes Kristi Maier to CEO
The Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the promotion of Executive Director Kristi Maier to her new position of Chief Executive Officer. At a Board of Directors meeting on March 18, the unanimous decision was made to reward Maier for her unwavering dedication to the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows business community.
Chamber President Jerry Kok explained “Kristi Maier is exactly the leader that the Chamber needs. She has taken Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows by storm. Kristi is constantly out in the community, engaging and advocating for members, liaising with Municipal and Provincial government leaders and solidifying the Chamber’s position as the voice of business. We are so lucky to have her and are confident that she will continue to thrive in her new position”.
Maier, who has 6 years of previous experience with the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce, comes with a wealth of business experience as well, including administrative roles, human resources and real estate. She was hired as Executive Director of the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce in October 2022 and has put the Chamber on an unprecedented upward trajectory ever since. In the past 18 months, Maier has been the driving force in the Chamber’s rebrand, including a name change; relocating its office to the Maple Ridge Business Centre; negotiating fee-for-service agreements with both Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows; and bolstering its membership to almost 500 members. She has implemented the Food for Thought training sessions, the wildly popular Business After Hours networking events as well reimagining the Chamber’s signature events. The vision that Maier has for the Chamber is one of inclusivity and diversity, where all of the business community can prosper. Pair that with the passion and dedication that she has for Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, the new CEO is sure to succeed.
On March 9, the Chamber hosted the sold-out Business Excellence Awards at the Albion Community Centre. The event showcased the direction that the Chamber is going under Maier’s leadership. The awards gala recognized 10 categories of businesses for both Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and left the attendees in awe. There are other great events coming later in the year as well, including the highly-anticipated Celebrating Women in Business event with Darci Lang on June 13, and making its return after many years, the Chamber Golf Tournament is slated for September 13.
