The Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a new three-year Fee-for-Service Agreement with the City of Pitt Meadows. The agreement, unanimously approved by Pitt Meadows City Council during the Public Council Meeting on April 1st, 2025, reflects a shared commitment to fostering economic development and supporting the local business community.
CEO Kristi Maier and Chamber President Jerry Kok attended the meeting to represent the Chamber. The renewed agreement allocates $18,000 annually to support a variety of joint initiatives that benefit Pitt Meadows businesses, including:
-
Annual Pitt Meadows Hiring & Resources Fair, hosted in partnership with WorkBC;
-
Maintenance and updates to the Pitt Meadows Online Business Directory;
-
Development and distribution of a New Business Information Package, now completed and available on the Chamber’s website and on the City’s website under “Local Economic Development”; and
-
A partially funded business support role, dedicated to developing new resources, supporting economic development, and contributing to the City’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) initiatives
"The Chamber of Commerce under Kristi Maier's leadership over the last two and a half years has just ballooned and it is a mighty machine," said Mayor Nicole MacDonald during the Public Council Meeting. "The creativity and the passion is there. I think this is a great value—and is an ideal time to further support economic development and our business community. This shows the City's commitment to that. It is a piece that is essential for the livability and viability of our community."
Council members echoed strong support for the agreement, highlighting the importance of the Chamber’s partnership and role in connecting with new businesses. Council emphasized that this investment promises substantial benefits for the community and represents money well spent.
The agreement will be reviewed annually, with a full evaluation and opportunity for new recommendations at the end of the three-year term.
The Ridge Meadows Chamber looks forward to continuing this important work with the City of Pitt Meadows and to further building a vibrant, supportive environment for local businesses.
