The new-look basketball court in Pitt Meadows will honour a Ridge Meadows RCMP officer who died in the line of duty last year.

The Vancouver Bandits Professional Basketball Club are partnering with the City of Pitt Meadows and sponsors in refurbishing the outdoor court at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre.

The renewed court has been unveiled and renamed as “Constable Rick O’Brien Court” in honour of the decorated Mountie.

O’Brien was shot and killed in the line of duty on Sept. 22, 2023.

Sponsor the refurbishment of the Rick O'Brien Court and receive both a tax receipt from the City of Pitt Meadows & name on the permanent sponsor plaque that will be placed at the Rick O'Brien Court.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $500 to $7,500. Deadline to support the project and be included on the sponsor plaque is October 21st, 2024.
